Within just 4 years of operation in his chosen field, Ta-ku, from Perth, Australia has evolved from a self-taught student of music into a scholar of progressive beat production, cultivating a unique sound that has since resonated to all corners of the globe.
As an astute observer of the melodic elements of soul music and the percussive elements of hip-hop, the producer/DJ’s musical identity continues to evolve with the progressive nature of the genres he has contributed to, illustrated with his Songs To Break Up To album in October 2013.
In June 2015, Ta-ku released the follow-up ‘Songs To Make Up To’ EP via Future Classic. The release included singles ‘Love Again’ feat. JMSN & Sango and ‘Down For You’ feat. Alina Baraz, and was made available across three editions of coloured 12″ vinyl.
Ta-ku has also remixed for the likes of AlunaGeorge, Flume, BANKS, and The Presets. He will debut his live show at MoMA PS1 in New York on 25 October 2015.
