Melbourne producer Thrupence today shares ‘Conversations feat. Edward Vanzet’, the second single to come from his forthcoming debut album ‘Ideas of Aesthetics’, set for release 21 April on Future Classic. Thrupence has enlisted his brother Edward Vanzet on vocals, who features twice on the album alongside label mate Wafia.
The single follows on from cut ‘Rinse Repeat‘. Of the album, Thrupence says, “Ideas of Aesthetics is a collection of songs made over the last 6 years – some songs date back to 2011, others were finished in the last six months. It has become a diary of places I’ve lived and people I’ve met over this time”.
On the lyrical content of ‘Conversations’, his brother Edward says, “it touches on themes of depression, psychosis and loneliness. Writing the lyrics was pretty cathartic, having experienced this first hand and seeing it cause the demise of friends, acquaintances, and strangers in my life.”back
